On May 18, a men’s breakfast was held for Christ Alive Ministries’ special guests, the Hartsdale Fire Department. The event was organized to honor and acknowledge the firemen for their dedicated service to the Hartsdale community as well their protection and assistance to our church through the years. One of the firemen known as “FJ” recalled attending a previous breakfast invitation from CAM’s founding pastor,Tony Cestone. Pleasant memories!
After breakfast, several of the firemen demonstrated how the fire trucks operate which provided wonderful entertainment to the children present, along with their parents who are members of Christ Alive. The children were invited to climb aboard the truck to explore and learn about the inner workings of the controls. It was a big thrill to see one of the firemen being elevated way up high, demonstrating how the firemen help rescue from tall heights and difficult places to save people from fires.
At the end of the gathering, Fire Chief Rush invited Pastor Annette Cestone to offer the opening prayer for the Hartsdale Memorial Day parade which was celebrated on May 27.
Christ Alive finished off the holiday weekend with a picnic for the entire congregation, held at Gerlach Park in Ossining. The beautiful sunshine provided an enjoyable time for everyone.
